Awareness for the environment is becoming rapidly more important; and not a moment too soon.
We play an active part in climate protection!
“Climate neutral” is a term used to describe companies, processes or products whose greenhouse emissions are calculated and then offset by purchasing emissions certificates. Climate neutrality means that the object described as being climate neutral, such as a product or a service, will not change the CO₂balance in the atmosphere. When you purchase RFID tags from smart-TEC you will be supporting a climate protection project. On request we can also issue certificates for the CO₂amount compensated.
Why climate protection?
Climate change is the greatest challenge facing humanity. It is threatening biodiversity in flora and fauna, will compromise ecosystems and
change our way of life.
Why act now?
The rise in CO₂and other greenhouse gases has contributed considerably to the greenhouse effect and consequently, global warming. The rate and effects of climate change can still be reduced, but we need to act now. Reducing “man-made” greenhouse gas emissions is a priority. And it’s not just manufacturers who need to reduce their carbon footprint; even service industries can cut back their CO₂emissions.
What can you do?
CO₂and other greenhouse gases which cannot currently be avoided or reduced should at least be compensated for. The change in temperature due to the greenhouse effect is not just a local phenomenon, it’s a global problem. The idea behind “climate neutrality” is to offset the emissions which occur in one location through climate protection projects others.
smart-TEC currently supports a hydro-electricity project in Pueblo Nuevo Viñas, Guatemala; one of the many worldwide climate protection projects.
Other environmental protection programs – GoGreen
smart-TEC is not only committed to ensuring the climate neutrality of their own activities, we also look for opportunities to join other environmental protection programs. GoGreen is the German Post Office’s own carbon-neutral program. Customers partaking in the GoGreen scheme pay an additional fee per package/letter which is then used to support internationally recognised climate protections projects.
