At the Wacken Open Air, over 70,000 visitors were able to top up the NFC chip integrated into the glass with an amount of money. The beer itself was tapped at the corresponding taps and cashless payment was made at the same time.
The smart NFC glass was held up to an NFC reader integrated into the dispensing system. The reader recognizes the NFC chip and the price of the beer is debited from the virtual credit and the dispenser is activated. A scenario that can be particularly useful at events and large-scale functions.
