Information on the Ordinance on Packaging and Packaging Waste
The RATHGEBER Group, comprising Rathgeber GmbH & Co. KG, Rathgeber, k.s., smart-TEC GmbH & Co. KG, and RATHGEBER Sp. z o. o., fulfills its commitment to complying with relevant environmental regulations and continuously improving environmental protection with dedication and motivation. For many years, we have been continuously reducing our environmental impact - such as energy consumption, wastewater, waste, and the presence and quantities of pollutants - at our sites and in our products.
As a manufacturer of durable technical and decorative product labels, as well as custom NFC/RFID transponders for Industry 4.0 and IoT applications, we ship our products in packaging selected to meet environmental, safety, and product protection requirements.
Rathgeber GmbH & Co. KG and smart-TEC GmbH & Co. KG comply with the requirements of the applicable European Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) as well as the supplementary national regulations. Our companies are registered in the LUCID packaging registry and fulfill their obligations under Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR).
The PPWR aims to prevent packaging waste, strengthen the circular economy, and reduce the environmental impact of packaging throughout its entire life cycle. To this end, requirements are established regarding the sustainability, recyclability, labeling, and composition of packaging, as well as the use of recycled materials.
In line with these goals, we are committed to sustainable packaging management and consistently adhere to the principle of reducing packaging to the minimum necessary without compromising the quality, safety, or integrity of our products during storage and transport.
When selecting our packaging, we pay particular attention to:

minimizing packaging materials,

the use of recyclable packaging,

the use of materials with the highest possible proportion of recycled content,

the avoidance of unnecessary packaging components,

promoting high-quality material recycling, as well as

compliance with applicable requirements for packaging labeling and environmental sustainability.
Together with our packaging suppliers, we regularly verify that the packaging used complies with the requirements of the PPWR and promote the continuous development of sustainable packaging solutions.
As part of our DIN EN ISO 14001-certified environmental management system, we have established processes and control mechanisms to ensure compliance with applicable packaging regulations and to continuously improve our environmental performance.
We view sustainable packaging as a key contribution to conserving resources, reducing packaging waste, and promoting a functioning European circular economy.
