Mehmet Akkocaoglu

Episode 7: Mehmet Akkocaoglu, Business Development Manager

"I am a Kölsche Jung from the Bosporus - a philologist of Spanish language and literature, multilingual with German, English, Spanish and Turkish. I've been living in Munich for 20 years now."
This is how Mehmet Akkocaoglu describes himself, who can look back on sales experience since 2004. It all started with labels, GPS systems and industrial inkjet printers. Since 2017, he has been a specialist at smart-TEC for RFID-based labeling and identification solutions in a wide range of industries.

In his day-to-day sales work, it is important for him to get to know new industries and applications. Complex customer inquiries spur him on to find the optimal, individual project solution.

"For me, it is important to see the customer's satisfaction and the development of the project and thus make a contribution to networking and digitalization."
"Privately, I practiced taekwondo, which strengthens my concentration, gives me an inner balance and I focus on the essentials. But my real love is soccer, especially a big yellow and blue club from Istanbul. My passion for equipping this club with RFID and NFC technology doesn't just drive me professionally. If I succeed, you will certainly find out," promises Mehmet Akkocaoglu.

Three questions for Mehmet Akkocaoglu, which he answers spontaneously:

Question 1: What does your work-life balance look like?

Akkocaoglu: As I am the father of three children and enjoy having breakfast with them, I start a little later and am often the last one in the office in the evening. Thanks to the flexible working hours at smart-TEC, the good team spirit and the opportunity to work remotely, I can combine family and career wonderfully.

Question 2: What is your favorite project at smart-TEC and why?

Akkocaoglu: My favorite project is the smart-PLATE for the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB), which is used to clearly identify the rail welding points in the Swiss long-distance rail network. A successful project with a very long preparatory phase. To implement the project, a completely new product was developed in collaboration with the customer and our production & development department.

Question 3: How would you describe yourself in 3 words?

Akkocaoglu: Optimistic, calm, curious
