Alex Decker
As Product Manager at smart-TEC, Alex Decker is the central point of contact and serves as a link between management, development, quality management, sales and marketing.
Episode 8: Alex Decker, Product Manager
"No standing still" is important to him and he has eliminated phrases such as "We've always done it this way" from his everyday working life. The development of new products and the incorporation and integration of new technologies allows him to work at the cutting edge. And that benefits the entire RATHGEBER Group.
"A positive atmosphere is very important to me and the exchange of ideas within the team also contributes to new, important impulses."
His bachelor's and master's degrees in industrial engineering help him to master his challenging tasks, as do his many stays abroad in Indonesia, Malaysia, China and Australia.
Three questions for Alex Decker:
Question 1: What does a typical working day at smart-TEC look like?
Alex Decker: "Every day, there is a lively exchange with many different departments, especially development and sales, but also marketing, management, quality management and production.
In addition to answering emails and internal discussions, the focus is on exchanging ideas with customers. However, market research, carrying out initial range tests and driving forward development projects are also daily to-dos. Certifications and tests for RFID/NFC transponders and the preparation of internal and external audits also fall under my remit."
Question 2: What was your favorite project at smart-TEC and why?
Alex Decker: "I have very fond memories of the most unusual RFID tagging project - the Tegernsee duck race. I see the RASTAL Smartglass as forward-looking and, for me personally, the RFID and NFC labeling in the chemical industry, because it improves the processes of an entire industry."
Question 3: How would you describe yourself in 3 words?
Alex Decker: "Thinking - Analyzing - Team-oriented"
