Efficient toll reimbursement thanks to NFC technology from smart-TEC

The challenge
With the introduction of the new toll law in July 2024, which stipulates that vehicles over 3.5 tons must pay tolls, many transport service providers are facing rising costs. Hermes Einrichtungs Service GmbH was looking for an efficient and secure solution to process toll costs for its partner companies in a more transparent and automated way.

The smart-TEC solution
smart-TEC has developed a forgery-proof NFC label that is affixed to the windshield of vehicles subject to tolls. The UID of the label is stored in the master data of the respective vehicle. Before setting off, the driver scans the smart-LABEL Windshield with a mobile computer. This enables unique identification and automatic recording of the toll costs, which are then reimbursed to the partner companies via an internal billing system.Advantages of the smart-LABEL Windshield
