NFC stands for Near Field Communication and refers to contactless data transmission based on RFID technology.
To ensure that customers can easily obtain all the information about the product they have purchased, Essertec has opted for an NFC transponder from the smart-DOME Classic and the software solution IDconnect from smart-TEC.
The IDconnect software solution automatically takes Essertec customers to the mobile website (IDconnect) after reading the NFC transponder using a smartphone or tablet. There they can view all product-specific information such as instructions for use, warranty documents, installation instructions etc.. This makes repairs and refurbishment work much easier, as the appropriate individual parts can be easily determined and ordered immediately in the event of damage. IDconnect also provides quick access to other important information about the product: installation videos, article number, year of manufacture, order number, position on the roof, glazing, nominal size and fall-through protection.
The NFC transponder is positioned so that it is easily accessible from the roof. For users whose smartphone is not NFC-capable, a QR code has also been printed on it. NFC technology allows products to be reliably identified even after many years. Information on the exact position on the roof supports the identification of individual skylight domes or flat roof windows. In addition, fitters can view stored installation videos on site so that nothing stands in the way of the correct installation of the skylight domes and flat roof windows. The smart-DOME Classic is a very robust NFC transponder that is suitable for the harshest weather conditions, for heat and cold as well as for mechanical, thermal and chemical loads. The smart-DOME Classic can be customized in terms of shape, design, technology and mounting method. The big advantage: even after years, each product can be clearly identified using an NFC transponder, as each NFC transponder has a globally unique and unambiguous identification number (=Unique Identification Number) stored in the chip and therefore in the product
