Innovation and craftsmanship are a matter close to the hearts of the goldsmiths, Christiane Rüping and Hyun Jeong An. With great attention to detail, they design delicate and high-quality pieces of jewelry made exclusively from sustainable raw materials and recycled materials. The resulting designer jewelry pieces are absolute eye-catchers, but that was not enough for the founders. Their aim is to take jewelry to a new level - to the IoT level.
This gave rise to the idea of a piece of jewelry with integrated NFC technology. As the first piece of jewelry of its kind, it offers a solid connection between digital content and an individual design.
In the flood of interchangeable digital content, we lose sight of these values, because even without a physical form, lasting, important moments are created. OONA is the anchor in the sea of digital data streams. Together, we extract individual pieces of content from this flood, give them a physical form and combine them with high-quality materials. Using traditional goldsmithing techniques, we create a modern IoT product as a lasting expression of identity and origin.

But how exactly does it work: the NFC chip is permanently integrated into the piece of jewelry, invisible but readable at any time with a smartphone or tablet. When the customer holds their smartphone up to the piece of jewelry, they are automatically taken to a mobile website, the software solution IDconnect from smart-TEC. On the IDconnect mobile website, the customer receives additional information about the piece of jewelry in the form of images, videos or files displayed on their smartphone. The IDconnect interface from smart-TEC is completely coordinated with the Oona design and creates a homogeneous image in terms of corporate design.
After every NFC chip integrated into a piece of jewelry has a globally unique serial number - the so-called UID - the piece of jewelry marked with it is also unique worldwide.
