AIM publishes white paper on "RFID & sensor technology"
04.03.2025AIM is a globally networked industry association and is committed to the promotion and further development of technologies for automatic identification, data capture and mobile data communication.

As a lobby group for the industry, AIM actively supports the development and application of Auto-ID technologies such as barcodes, matrix codes, RFID and sensor technology for labeling and identification.
AIM Germany has now published a comprehensive white paper on the topic of RFID & sensor technology.
This was created by the AIM expert group "RFID & Sensor Technology", which is led by Olaf Wilmsmeier (Wilmsmeier Solutions). A key contribution came from Alex Decker, Head of Product and Quality Management at smart-TEC), who was involved in its creation together with other experts from well-known companies.
The white paper provides a detailed overview of the functionality and possible applications of RFID sensor transponders. It covers essential norms, standards and definitions. It also describes active and passive RFID systems, including SAW-based sensor solutions. Technical aspects such as range, protection class and temperature resistance are also highlighted. The white paper is supplemented by practical application examples, including temperature, humidity and pressure measurements in industrial processes.
With this white paper, AIM Germany provides the necessary information for the efficient use of RFID sensor technology in various industries and thus makes an important contribution to the further development of these key technologies.
