We look back on this year's "Climate Commute Challenge" with success and are proud to have been part of this initiative. This internal competition focused on the commute to work.
The main objective was to achieve a change in personal transportation choices by choosing a more climate-friendly, energy-efficient and environmentally conscious alternative to the previously used means of transport. This was intended to reduce CO2 and promote personal health at the same time.
A virtual mobility day was held on May 8 to answer open questions on the topic. Information was provided on company bike leasing, the challenge itself, car sharing and mobility in Oberhaching. There was also a small quiz with attractive prizes.A test fleet with six different bikes (including folding bikes and cargo bikes), children's bike trailers and two public transport tickets was also made available in Oberhaching. There were two different categories in the actual challenge:
- Saving as much CO2 as possible by switching to alternative means of transport. In total, we were able to achieve savings of over 700 kg of CO2!
- Number of days on which a more sustainable mode of transport was used to get to work. In total, more sustainable means of transport were used for 61 days.
Participants in the challenge had the opportunity to win attractive prizes: These included a folding bike, a bike backpack and a voucher for a Bahncard 25 - additional motivation for their commitment and efforts to reduce their carbon footprint and promote more sustainable mobility.
Thank you very much for your keen interest and participation in the challenges.
