GoodPRO is a Czech manufacturer of protective gear against heat damage for firefighters, as well as for many other industrial sectors. The company exports firefighter protective clothing, as well as safety clothing and gloves, to more than 50 countries worldwide.
The company has now upgraded its firefighting equipment with NFC technology from smart-TEC. This enables contactless identification of emergency firefighting clothing and supports efficient management and tracking of equipment, its usage, and maintenance. This reduces the risk of loss, misuse, confusion, or abuse. NFC transponders on firefighting equipment enable quick and accurate inventory management. This helps ensure that all necessary components are accounted for and in working condition.
Durable and Heat-Resistant NFC Transponders
The jackets and trousers in the firefighting equipment range are equipped with durable NFC transponders from the smart-DOME series. These are designed to be resistant to heat and water and can withstand even the harshest mechanical stresses without damage. This ensures they remain fully functional even under extreme conditions, such as temperatures exceeding 180°C.
The NFC transponders are located on the outside of the garment, making them easily accessible and clearly visible under the RFID logo patch. Each NFC transponder - and thus each tagged product - has a globally unique identification number (UID) that is permanently programmed into the chip. The NFC transponders from smart-TEC can be read using any standard smartphone or tablet. This automatically connects to the SmartPRO software solution, where all manufacturer information - such as product name, size, and manufacturing date - is stored.

The SmartPRO RFID Register application offers firefighters many other interesting and useful features. After registering the emergency clothing, users can document information about its usage, maintenance, and care online and in real time.
