Sebastian Wohlrab, Innovation Manager
Innovation Manager with a passion for practical innovations
Since October 2026, Sebastian Wohlrab has been strengthening the smart-TEC team as an Innovation Manager. His enthusiasm for technology has been with him since his early years. He is particularly fascinated by the connection between hardware and software, as well as the question of how this can lead to innovative yet practical solutions.
His professional focus is on embedded hardware and software development, particularly in the field of (battery-free) wireless sensor technology. Sebastian is driven by his passion for understanding technical concepts, developing new ideas, and deriving innovative solutions from them. He values collaboration with others and the opportunity to work together on cutting-edge technologies.
For Sebastian, innovation is more than just technical feasibility!
A good product must not only function reliably, but also be cost-effective and efficient to manufacture. He now brings this holistic perspective to his work at smart-TEC.
Even in his free time, Sebastian likes to keep things hands-on!
He invests a lot of time in his self-converted VW T4, which he regularly takes on camping trips. When he’s not working on a new project for the van, you’ll often find him at the pool or behind the espresso machine. As a passionate coffee lover and hobby barista, he enjoys experimenting with different beans, grind sizes, and brewing methods.
Whether he’s developing new technologies, tinkering with the VW bus, or perfecting his next cup of coffee, Sebastian tackles challenges with enthusiasm, creativity, and an eye for detail. It’s precisely these qualities that make him a valuable addition to our innovation team.
His motto: Understand technology, develop ideas, and create solutions that work in everyday life.
