Margot Schmid
Episode 6: Margot Schmid, Internal Sales
Margot Schmid originally comes from the hotel industry and fortunately there is still a lot of that left. She has been working at smart-TEC for 15 years and brings the idea of service and the ability to not drop the pen after eight hours to the table every day.
The internal sales team has become second nature to her. In stressful situations, she keeps a cool head, structures and prioritizes the projects on her desk.
This is also necessary, as she has to maintain an overview of her various daily tasks. Incoming and outgoing goods, sample shipments, sales assistance and intensive customer care are her main areas of responsibility.
"But that's not all," says Margot Schmid. "I assist all smart-TEC departments wherever I can. That's the way it is here and I'm proud of it. The team spirit among colleagues is also great. We tackle projects as a team. That benefits the customer and strengthens us as a community".
"We always have projects that take us into new territory. From sampling to delivery of the goods." Margot Schmid finds this very exciting"
"When I started at smart-TEC 15 years ago, we were only three employees in total."
In her private life, Margot Schmid finds her balance in sport. Whether yoga, hiking or skiing - she is enthusiastic about everything.
Three questions for Margot Schmid, which she answers spontaneously:
Question 1: What does a typical working day at smart-TEC look like?Margot Schmid: "A typical working day is that I have to reprioritize and be flexible every day. Even at breakfast at home, I think about the tasks that need to be done. I can't always complete them during the course of the day, but I can complete many others."
Question 2: What was your favorite project at smart-TEC and why
Margot Schmid: "One of my most exciting projects was getting the NFC products for Conrad Electronic into the stores and online store. The packaging had to be designed, displays and hanging fixtures developed, built and assembled. It was new territory for us at the time. Each of our colleagues played their part so that we were ultimately able to ship good products, neatly packaged and according to the delivery schedule. Just teamwork!"
Question 3: How would you describe yourself in 3 words?
Margot Schmid: "Reliable. Curious. Flexible."
