Hermes Einrichtungs Service GmbH reimburses toll costs with NFC technology

The new toll law from July 2024 will result in additional costs for transport service providers. Hermes Einrichtungs Service GmbH is meeting this challenge with an innovative solution: The toll costs of its partner companies will be reimbursed - based on tamper-proof NFC technology from smart-TEC.

An NFC label on the windshield of vehicles subject to tolls ensures secure identification. Before setting off, the driver scans the label with a mobile computer, which uniquely verifies the vehicle in the system. The toll charges are then automatically recorded and reimbursed.

Compared to QR codes or barcodes, NFC technology offers more security and transparency. With this solution, Hermes is focusing on digitalization and efficiency to enable its partner companies to reliably process toll reimbursement.
