RFID-Equipped Coupling Seal for Digital Hose Management

In collaboration with JMW Fire, smart-TEC has developed an innovative solution for the digital identification and management of fire hoses and fittings: the Storzdichtung with RFID. The integrated RFID transponder is securely housed within the seal and enables permanent, reliable identification even under demanding operating conditions.
Unlike barcodes or QR codes, the identification remains permanently usable even when exposed to dirt, water, heat, or abrasion. This allows fire hoses and fittings to be uniquely identified, and maintenance, inspection, and inventory processes to be digitally documented.
A particular advantage is the ease of retrofitting: Existing hoses and fittings can be digitized without extensive modifications by replacing the existing seal with an RFID-equipped coupling seal.
The solution is available for coupling systems compliant with DIN 14333, DIN 14334, and DIN 14335, and helps fire departments manage their equipment efficiently, transparently, and in a future-proof manner.
