RFID / NFC Digital type plates
Traditional & intelligent
A digital type plate is a metal type plate with integrated RFID/NFC technology. “The digital twin” is an important issue for the whole of the manufacturing industry in the context of Industry 4.0 and IoT.
A digital twin is a representation of a physical object in the digital world. The precondition for this is that machines, devices and plants operating in demanding environmental conditions are labelled using digital type plates. All of the information regarding a machine – such as maintenance plans, maintenance histories, operating instructions, installation and commissioning instructions – are stored in the central company software. The responsible employee receives this information online as soon as he uses a mobile end device to scan a suitable auto-ID technology on the digital type plate, such as a 2D code, or “ taps” it using an RFID/NFC chip.
The digital type plate combines the advantages of a robust, durable and visual label with the digital opportunities offered by RFID and NFC technology.
It can be used, engraved, printed and finished just like classic metal type plates. In addition, it offers digital flexibility with data storage, contactless reading and perfect integration into new IoT processes.
Areas of use:
- Time tracking
- Access control
- Baths
- Payment systems
- BDE systems
- Festivals and trade fairs
International DIN standards and global norms
Every industry and every company has different requirements, demands, application scenarios and value-added processes. Nevertheless, industry and sector norms and standards remain important for satisfying the requirements enabling global networking among all enterprises forming a value chain.
We are familiar with these standards and norms and are therefore able to design and print our digital type plates in accordance with all of the valid industry norms and cross-manufacturer DIN standards – and then program the chip.
An example of the internationally standardised design and programming of a digital type plate can be taken from the chemical and process industry.
Here, for example, the IEC61406-1 standard applies, which is based on the DIN-SPEC 91406 standard.
